A representative from the Brawley Police Department has confirmed that they arrested 29-year-old Steven Ambriz on weapons charges.
Officers had received a report that an unknown man was walking the streets with a gun, sources said, and when they arrived, they found a man who matched the physical description they’d been given.
When officers searched the area, they found a loaded shotgun. Ambriz was arrested without incident and he was transported to the Imperial County Jail to be booked.
His bail bonds information was not immediately available, however, if the now defendant has a prior felony conviction he could face an additional charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Should he, or a family member, choose to hire an Imperial County bail bondsman, the cost to purchase his bail bonds will be 10% of his total bail amount. A bondsman’s fee is considered to be earned in full at the time a defendant is released from jail; it’s not something that will be returned in part or in full no matter what happens with the defendant’s case.
