A spokesperson for the El Centro Police Department confirmed officers were dispatched to investigate a call from a person who said several gangsters had congregated in a local park. The dispatcher who took the call said the party on the other end of the phone was quite heated and sounded aggressive. He reportedly indicated he and his friend would take violent action against the supposed gangsters if police did not remove them from the area. That person also threatened the lives of the persons at the park. Officers were dispatched to the location in which the call originated from. The callers mother answered the phone and indicated that person moved out of the residence. No arrests were made.
The following night, members of the Imperial County Sheriff’s Department said they responded to a call about a male transient who had been seen flashing himself to vehicles. The incident was taking place near the community of Brawley. Deputies arrived at the scene and were able to locate the suspect a short time later. He indicate he was not feeling well and believed this could be related to him having eaten bugs, insects and food from nearby trash cans.
The man requested medical assistance. It is unclear whether he was transported to a local hospital. No arrests were made.
