Members of the El Centro Police Department have responded to a number of calls in recent weeks. The first call came in when a man in a parking lot called to say he believed he witnessed two men shooting up drugs. Officers were dispatched but the suspects had departed. Syringes and a pipe used for smoking methamphetamine were found at the scene. Those items were booked and logged.
Several days later an unidentified Hispanic male was reportedly exposing himself near a local elementary school. Staff said they saw him on at least two occasions. The man was warned to keep his clothes on and to stay away from the area.
El Centro Police officers said they also received a call regarding shots fired. Police said a group of juveniles were seen loitering by a dumpster at a fast food restaurant. It is believed the youths fired a gun at a car that was leaving the area. All of the suspects ran off before officers arrived.
Another man called the ECPD after he was jumped. The man said the assailants attacked him and took his watch, wallet and a six pack of beer. The attackers said if he did not comply they would pull a gun. The suspects were observed running from the scene of the crime but have not yet been captured. Investigators are asking anyone with information on this crime to please contact police. Once these men ar captured they will be booked into the El Centro Jail.
