Police in El Centro have confirmed that a man who was seen driving a stolen car has been arrested.
The incident happened in late-November, according to a report by KXOradio.com, when El Centro Police Department officials spotted a car that had been reported as stolen. They tried to pull the vehicle over, investigators said, but the driver wanted no part of that.
He laid his foot on the gas and within moments, officers were in hot pursuit. The suspect even drove through crowded parking lots, and into oncoming traffic, in his effort to get away!
The man didn’t stop until he drove over a sidewalk, at which point, the car sopped on its own. To make matters worse, he became physically combative with the arresting officers.
That man, who has since been identified as 23-year-old Elizardo Saenz, has since been arrested. He was booked at the Imperial County Jail on a small pile of felony charges.
