The prime suspect in a recent break in at the Rockwood Chemical Company has been arrested and is now in custody at the Imperial County Jail.
Sources close to the company say that man, Richard Ricks allegedly stole a Ford F150 truck and other company items. A total of two break-ins were recorded, police said, and at this point, it’s unclear if the man in custody can be linked to one or both crimes.
El Centro Police say when they arrested Ricks they found the stolen truck along with other things that had been taken.
He was booked on several charges including burglary and is being held on undisclosed bail bonds. Jail officials have not said whether this is the first time the defendant has been in their custody or if he has a history of priors.
If Ricks is currently on parole or probation from a previous case, he may be ineligible to hire a bondsman until he sees a judge.
