The El Centro Police Department has had their hands full this past week, dealing with issues ranging from hit and run to car theft.
One resident called the Department to relay their red Ford Ranger had been stolen. Although officers were unable to locate any evidence, they are asking residents to be on the lookout for a red 2003 two door truck with lifted suspension.
In other news, two homeless people were hospitalized for dehydration. These individuals included one 66 year-old man and another who was approximately 18 years older. Both have since been released.
The El Centro Police Department also responded to call when a Brawley Man was found dead in his home. The Imperial Valley Press said it’s believed he had died several days before he was found. His cause of death has not yet been determined. An autopsy is scheduled to take place later this week. Signs of foul play were not immediately evident.
In addition, the El Centro Police Department received a tip of a hit and run collision. The crash involved two vehicles, a Chrysler Sebring and a Ford Fiesta. When one of the parties failed to stop, the other decided to engage in pursuit. The chase lasted several minutes and ended on Heil Avenue.
He was arrested in El Centro and has been charged with DUI and hit and run.
