Officials at the El Centro Police Department have been sent out to investigate a number of calls in the past several days. The first related to the slashing of vehicle tires on Southwind Drive. All four of the tires were damaged beyond repair. The owner of the car did not have information as to a potential motive or suspect. The vandal remains at large. That person will be booked into the Imperial County Jail at the time of their arrest and bail will be set based on their arrest charges.
Bail bonds can be posted at this jail 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. An Imperial bondsman can be hired to post a bond at a cost equal to 10% of the defendant’s assigned bail amount.
The following day, a Hispanic male was arrested on suspicion of carrying a firearm without the proper licensing. Witnesses called officers to indicate two men were reportedly casing the area. Responding officers detained one of the men but released the other. Bail information for the detainee was not released.
Later that week residents of a Brawley apartment complex called for police assistance after a suspicious male was seen walking near the entryway of the building. That man was questioned briefly by police after they arrived to the scene. He was not determined to be a threat. He was given a verbal warning and released.
